Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours/week), with planned maintenance windows and participation in an on-call rota (allowance provided).
Note: Preference will be given to candidates from within the country. However, applicants from outside the UK are also welcome to apply. Right-to-work checks and standard background screening required prior to start.

CloudNet Technologies Limited is looking for highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Operations Engineers to join our growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, blending core IT infrastructure management with modern DevOps automation and cloud technologies. As a vital part of our team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our cloud environments, helping to maintain robust and scalable systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deploy, configure, and manage secure and scalable servers, virtual machines, and hosting environments, primarily on Microsoft Azure.
· Proactively monitor system performance, security, and availability to guarantee service availability targets ≥99.5% (where applicable) with monthly performance reporting.
· Implement and manage DevOps automation for CI/CD, backups, and other operational tasks using tools like Veeam/Azure Backup, Azure Monitor/Grafana/Zabbix, and Jira/ServiceNow.
· Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, software, and networking.
· Use established monitoring tools to respond to incidents, with Priority 1 response within 15 minutes and Priority 2 within 1 hour.
· Perform routine maintenance, including operating a weekly change window with approvals and rollback plans; maintain configuration baselines (CMDB).
· Manage daily/weekly backup jobs with monthly restore tests recorded and reviewed.
· Administer access and security processes, including joiners/movers/leavers, MFA, and quarterly access reviews.
· Work from ticket queues, meet response/resolution SLAs, and produce post-incident reviews.
· Track utilisation and capacity/cost optimisation across Azure workloads.
· Prepare detailed technical documentation and instructions to support operational tasks and system maintenance.

Skills & Qualifications:

· Candidates possess a degree in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering or equivalent.
· Demonstrable experience in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administrator, Cloud Engineer, IT Support Engineer) is highly important.
· Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
· Experience with Windows and/or Linux Server administration, and strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
· Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude, with a keen eye for detail and an innovative mindset.

Desirable:

· Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT consultancy environment.
· Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM/Bicep.
· Strong understanding of IT security principles, compliance standards, and data protection.
